During the 2019 Iowa Annual Conference you are invited to attend an educational mental health breakout session focused towards building community coalitions. Attendees will discover past and current mental health efforts and how communities are uniting to build a decisive and tactical strategy to address mental illness in their community. The session includes specific building blocks in the formation and creation of an effective and strategic community action coalition, building synergy and compassion for those suffering.

The presentation helps to build community action through powerful and compelling coalition building through community unity, corroboration and trust. The session describes historical and key components to an effective mental health coalition and how mental health unity is achieved through the collective energy of a coalition. The session creates a road map to success. Additionally, the session fosters a common bond of understanding, admiration and mutual respect for those willing to meet the mental health crisis and embrace critical challenges in creative ways to help others and serve their communities.
